Lovemore Foods is ‘Winner of Winners’ at Welsh Business Awards
We have just scooped the top gong at the South Wales Chamber of Commerce Welsh Business Awards and were named ‘Winner of Winners’ at the prestigious ceremony. After securing the ‘Success Through Overseas Trade’ title for the second consecutive year, we beat off some strong competition to win the overall award for best business in Wales.
The Welsh Business Awards showcase the very best of Welsh businesses and recognize the contribution they make in driving the economy forward.
We are one of the very few world class dedicated gluten, dairy and wheat free production facilities in the UK. 20% of our total sales comes from our export business and award judges praised us for the links built across the globe including America, Australia, Spain, Norway, Sweden, Portugal, Republic of Ireland, Hungary, the Middle East, the Netherlands, Malta, Finland, France and Germany. Following an invitation by the China-Britain Business Council, We recently attended ‘Wales Week’ in Wuhan, where we were introduced to the Chinese market. Discussions have also begun with a Japanese retailer, and Lovemore looks set to begin arriving in the East Asian countries in 2017.
Lovemore is also found on the Spanish airline, Vueling, and in Tesco Europe with its free from baked goods, and is set to appear on a national Morrisons TV advert in the UK later in the year.
Head of Sales, Julian Cruttenden, said: “To win the success through overseas trade category again was a fantastic achievement, but to win the overall award for the best business in Wales was the icing on the cake – excuse the pun! It really is fantastic to be recognised for the effort we put into establishing and building relationships and networks abroad.

Judges for the South Wales Chamber said: “Welsh Hills Bakery is a long established Welsh business that has developed excellent links with a number of global niche markets. Realistic and achievable growth targets have been demonstrated.”
The complete Lovemore range includes shortbreads, cookies, pies, tarts and slices which, with dedicated new product development and onsite testing facilities, are produced to taste exactly like the ‘real thing’.
